  • Why did you join Dairygold?

“I joined Dairygold to gain commercial experience in the dairy industry while still remaining in a research role. With the expected growth in milk volume following the quota abolition in 2015, the idea of joining a company with enormous growth and development into the future was an opportunity I didn’t want to miss.”

“Working at Dairygold means there are no boundaries – if you are interested in a certain area, all you have to do is ask for some experience in it. The company is always open to help you expand your knowledge and experience new areas of the organisation.”

  • What do you like most about your job?

“The people at Dairygold make it a great place to work - everyone goes out of their way to help each other. People at every level of the organisation are always available to offer support, advice and guidance.”

“I have a lot of interaction with all other departments within Dairygold, which has allowed me to gain an understanding of the business from a commercial, operational, and quality-assurance perspective, as well as continuously gaining knowledge and experience in my own area.”

“Working with Dairygold, I have the opportunity to develop strong business relationships with national and international customers on a daily basis. From speaking to a customer in Limerick one day to a customer in the Middle East the next, every single day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow.”

Employee Testimonials

Rose Geary

I joined Dairygold in 2003, working first as a lab technician, and more recently as team leader in the Agri Services Laboratory in Lombardstown. Over the years I have found my job to be both challenging and rewarding. Working in an area which is so customer focused allows you the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life. The wide array of services offered and the fact that the lab is constantly evolving ensures that every day is different, but the best part of the job for me is having the opportunity to work alongside a fantastic team of experienced and dedicated people, who genuinely care, on a day to day basis.

In an era of ever changing technology demands and a time of Innovation and Growth for Dairygold, my role involves engaging with our business teams in finding, designing and developing IT solutions, enabling them and the Society’s Shareholders to meet strategic targets and continually grow the business. Projects are varied and challenging and the value-add in the work I complete is always apparent.

Dairygold invests in its employees. In my 4 years of employment my skillset has been enhanced through programs such as the Lean Green Belt in Supply Chain Management and the IMI Diploma in High Performance Leadership.

Dairygold has a feel of a close knit team, striving to do things better while living the Society’s core values.

I started working as a Maintenance Electrician at Dairygold Lombardstown Mill after an apprenticeship with the Sugar Factory in Mallow. I have gained quality electrical experience at the Mill which is highly automated and has been very progressive in applying modern technology. This has given me a huge opportunity to grow with the advancing automation/computerisation which I was encouraged to do and I have developed strong skills working with P.L.C.’s, network, instrumentation, computers and other control equipment that is integrated into the plant’s operating system.
In the past 26 years Dairygold has given me lots of excellent opportunities to gain valuable experience, learn new skills some outside the normal electrical maintenance role, given responsibility to take on complicated tasks/roles and grow with modern technology.

I am working with Dairygold for the past 12 years. I’m currently a Team Leader within the organisation. I really enjoy working for Dairygold and have made a lot of my friends on the way.
Dairygold has helped me progress and further my education by sending me on courses. The most recent was the “Retail Development Programme”.

I commenced working in Dairygold in 2012, where I completed my first season in Castlefarm powder plant. I returned for the 2013 season where I got to work in our Mallow site due to the Niro 3 upgrade.
I returned to Castlefarm in 2014 where I took up the role of Oil and Greaser working in the Maintenance department. In 2016 I transferred to the Cheese factory in Clonmel road where I got the opportunity to take a shift role working as a block former operator.
Within my time in Dairygold I have found everyone very friendly and have thoroughly enjoyed all the roles and found that Dairygold has provided plenty of job opportunities and the chance to gain experience across Dairygold’s various sites.

Carmel Morrison

I entered the Graduate Program in 2012, where, facilitated by OMT, I completed the level 6 certified Diploma in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute. During the Graduate Programme I finished my professional accountancy exams, and acquired the 3 years’ work experience necessary for the ACCA qualification.
The graduate program provided a strong base of knowledge and enabled me to progress into my current role as a Site Accountant for the Clonmel Road Cheddar plant. The high level of responsibility I received from an early stage has continued into my current role, where I now have overall responsibility for the site, including the creation of the annual budget in conjunction with Site Management, completing monthly and year end accounts, and leading and participating in operational and finance projects.
